Knost Mildred (Midge) Smathers Knost, age 95, of Worthington died June 10, 2015 at Worthington Christian Village. Daughter of Ernest Judson Smathers and Fannie Halman Smathers of Greensboro, NC, she was a veteran of the Army Air Corps WWII and served in multiple stateside locations. She was a Special Services Officer and was discharged as a Captain in 1945. She held a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in Medical Technology. She was a member of the Worthington Methodist Church and Brookside Country Club. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray F Knost of Worthington and by her brothers Bruce, Nelson, Manley and George Smathers. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Louis Bragaw of Bedford MA; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Debbie Knost of Westerville; grandson, Ben Knost and wife Christan, granddaughters, Trisha Bartley and husband Tim; granddaughter, Molly Scharping and husband David; great grandchildren, Isabel and Everett Knost and Samuel Bartley; nieces, Sandy Knost Nicholson and Sue Smathers Yoder; and nephew, Rusty Smathers. Memorial service at 2 p.m. on Monday June 15 at Worthington Christian Village, 165 Highbluffs Blvd., Worthington, OH with Phil Williams officiating with burial that day at 11 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Les Bartley officiating.
