Loveless, Roger William Loveless, 93, died at Friendship Village of Columbus on Friday, February 24, 2006. He was born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, son of Maurice and Nellie Loveless and husband of 63 years to Millie Loveless. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and was elected to Tau Beta Pi, the National Honorary Engineering Fraternity. Later, he attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio and the University of Louisville, KY. He was a veteran of WWII where he served as a major in the Army Corps of Engineers. He retired as chairman of Alden E. Stilson & Associates Professional Engineers and Surveyors. He received the Citation and Award for Outstanding Service from the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers in 1972, where he held various positions, including president. He also received The Outstanding Civil Engineering Alumni Award from the OSU College of Civil Engineering in 1990, the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the OSU College of Engineering in 1991, and was recognized in Who's Who in Civil Engineering. During his career, he was also a director of the National Society of Professional Engineers. He was a longtime member of the Columbus Athletic Club, the Brookside Golf and Country Club, the Columbus Rotary Club, and the Worthington United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous committees. He will be missed by his wife, Millie; his children, Lynne (Bill) Niblock, David (Cathie) Loveless, Carl (Phil) Koppel; his eight grandchildren, Julie McTague, Carolyn Niblock, Steve, Erin and Lauren Loveless, Doug, Daniel and David Koppel; great-grandson, Peter McTague; and sister, Louise Bradley. The family will receive friends at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 from 5-7 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio with Rev. Alan Sippel officiating.
