Joan B. Lutz, 94 pass away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2022 in Columbus. She was a lifelong member of Worthington United Methodist Church where she served as the Executive Secretary for over twenty years and was active in many aspects of the church’s ministries. In her later years, she was a dedicated knitter for the Mat Ministry. She was working on her current mat the day before her passing. As a mother of five, she was always busy with things like Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and attending football games, baseball games, orchestra concerts and vocal music performances. She enjoyed Western Square Dancing, bowling, camping, sewing, and always had a world-famous garden.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Lutz, and former spouse, Owen E. Buxton Jr. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Shelia Buxton, Bruce and Molly Buxton, Mark and Debbie Buxton; daughters and sons-in-laws Joanne and Wes Corazalla, Sheryl and Eric Jones; thirteen grandchildren Brian, Korie, Joey, Luke, Jesse, Colin, Christi, Rachael, Brittany, Thomas, Alicia, Todd, Steve; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 am in the Potter Chapel at The Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington, Ohio, 43231. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
