Martin Bonnie Jo (Dague) Martin, 72, of Worthington passed away on February 16, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. The daughter of the late Donald A. and Betty M. (Kirkland) Dague, she was born at home in Akron and graduated from Barberton High School in 1959. Bonnie spent her work life in the offices of public school administrators and doctors. Primarily a transcriptionist, she brought strong writing and spelling skills to the task. Bonnie and husband Bill moved to Columbus in 1965. She was a founding member of Worthington Christian Church in 1975, where Bonnie was the first volunteer nursery worker. A gifted soprano, Bonnie sang with church choir and the Columbus Symphony Chorus. She was a frequent soloist at the church, where congregants enjoyed her rendition of "O Holy Night" on Christmas Eve. Bonnie loved children and was attentive to the needs of the sick and the elderly. When she worked at a medical practice at Riverside, she frequently used her lunch break to visit friends who were hospitalized. She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles and playing the piano. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 50 years; children, Lisa (Charles) Gilgen and David (Diane) Martin; grandchildren, Connor, Katie, and Carter Gilgen; brothers, Bill (Rachel) Dague and Jeff (Laurie) Dague. The RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME in Worthington is handling the arrangements. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 20, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Worthington Christian Church, 8145 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43235. David Roberson and Marshall Hayden will officiate the funeral service at the church on Friday, February 21, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
