McCandless Marilyn L. McCandless (Brower), 89, passed away October 24, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Robert McCandless; loving mother of daughter Bonnie Niebuhr (Jim). She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Mildred Brower, brother Thomas C. Brower and sister Joann Bower. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Kane; many nieces and nephews and their children; and many dear friends. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she lived there until 2001 when she moved to Aurora, Ohio to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She graduated from North High School, Class of 1944 and was a member of the North High School Polar Bear Club. She was a former member of North United Methodist Church in Columbus; after moving to Aurora, she became a member of The Church in Aurora. She and her husband worked in her father's business, Columbus Radio Interference Company and became the owner after his death. She continued his business until she retired in 2001. Marilyn was an inspiration to all who knew her, persevering to live a full life after losing her vision from Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma. She continued to enjoy one of her favorite hobbies - "reading" through books on tape provided free by the Library for the Blind. Other favorite hobbies included talking to her phone buddies and listening to talk radio. She will be missed for her generous heart, sense of humor, and buoyant spirit. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington, Ohio.
