Ruth E. McLaughlin passed away peacefully on November 19, 2018 at the age of 101 in Leander, Texas. She was born on November 16, 1917 to Boyd and Lilly May Ridenour in Rockbridge, Ohio.
Ruth lived a profoundly impactful life—a life centered around integrity, humility, patience, wisdom, humor, virtue and faith. Her faith was rooted in her trust in Jesus throughout her life. She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruth lived most of her adult life in Worthington, Ohio where she was active in the community and had leadership roles in the Presbyterian Women’s United and the Women’s Golf League.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, R. Fred McLaughlin. She is survived by her sons: Tom (Yong) McLaughlin of Mercer Island, Washington, and John (Terry) McLaughlin of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren: Dan (Jeanie), Tyler (Jennifer), David, Adrian (Anna), James (Heather), Jordan, Sarah (Dustin), and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Blake, Collins, Jack, Kendall, Kelsey, Lillian and Everett.
The family wishes to thank the exceptional caregivers at the Legacy at Crystal Falls in Leander, Texas for the skilled, passionate care they gave Ruth.
