MERWIN Eldred Merwin, 87, of Hamilton, Mont. passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at Discovery Care Center in Hamilton, Mont. She was born to Inez and Ralph Stahman July 13, 1922 in Cincinnati, Oh. Eldred graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Oh. with a degree in education. She taught children in the primary grades in Cincinnati. While obtaining her Masters Degree at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Eldred met and married Harmon Merwin. She taught primary school and special education in Upper Arlington. Eldred was active in the North Broadway United Methodist Church and AAUW (American Association of University Women) in Columbus. She was preceded in death by daughter Kathryn Merwin and husband Harmon Merwin. Eldred is survived by her daughter, Elaine Swartout; and son, Brian Merwin; and three grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway with Pastor Deborah Stevens officiating. Interment to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements in care of the SCHOEDINGER CLEVELAND AVENUE CHAPEL.
