POLING Kenneth Eugene Poling, Sr., 83, Worthington, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Veteran WW II, (750th Tank Bn), retired from Defense Construction Supply Center, Columbus and Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Reserve. Born in Covington, Oh. February 15, 1923, son of Ray Kenneth and Ruth Teresa (Schachinger) Poling, both deceased. Preceded in death by brother Kay Emory Poling. Survived by his wife, Marilyn Rose (Swartz) Poling; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Best and grandchildren, Michael Sol and Megan Star; son, Kenneth Jr. (Cindy) and grandson, Kevin Edward; daughter, Tamara Ruth Fullerton (William) and grandchildren, William Weston and Delaney Dixon; sisters, L. Maxine Wright (Marshall) and L. Marlene King; brothers, Keith Eric and Kirby Eldon (Edith); and numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Houston (Ohio) HS, 1941, University of Dayton (BA Political Science), Memphis State University (MA American History) and Central Michigan (MA Public Administration). Proprietor of Genealogical Research Services, past president of Franklin County Genealogical Society, former trustee of Ohio Genealogical Society, presenter for National Genealogical Society and Federation of Genealogical Societies, competitive marksman, avid traveler and mentor to many. Funeral to be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. Viewing Friday, March 31, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour immediately preceding the service. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington.
