Ellen L. Potter, of Wooster, died June 1 at Wooster Community Hospital. She was born May 6, 1907, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Minnie (Collins) & Howard Potter, and sister Ruth Potter. Her familey moved to Columbus in 1908 and to Worthington in 1910. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Oberlin College in 1927 & attended The Ohio State University College of Education during the summers of 1928-29. She taught kindergarten in the Wooster City Schools from 1927-52, first at Bowman Street School, and later at Parkview Elementary School. She was a member of Worthington Methodist Church, Kappa Gamma Educational Sorority, and the Retired Teachers Association of Wayne County. Survivors include her brother Joseph Potter of Delaware. Funeral services will be held June 5 at Custer Funeral Home with the Rev. J. William Lofgren officiating, followed by interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
