Donald Eugene Ray  was born Saturday, March 14, 1936 in Henderson, Kentucky .

he died Friday, December 25, 2020. his recorded age was 84.

he was a veteran  of the Air Force.

his remains can be found at Walnut Grove Cemetery in lot 420  - section D  - space #1 East SE Corner (view map) .
Arrangements were made by O. R. Woodyard Funeral Home. The burial took place on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Donald E. Ray, 84, of Westerville, OH, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020 due to complications related to COVID-19. Born in Henderson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Norris and Myrtle (Taylor) Ray. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959, he returned to Columbus where he ran a series of successful businesses, including the Razors Edge Barbershop, multiple Ray’s Hallmark stores, and most recently, Acres Aweigh Boat and RV Storage in Lewis Center. As an avid skier, he was an active member in the Columbus Ski Club. He was also a member of Linden Masonic Lodge 637.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother Harold Ray. He is survived by daughters, Karen (Terry) Vourvopoulos, Katrina (Douglass) Carson, grandchildren, Michael (Elena) Vourvopoulos, Kristina Carson, Nicholas Vourvopoulos, Patrick Carson, and Sarah (Brandon) Smothers, his brothers, Marvin (Linda) Ray and Vernon (Patty) Ray and sister Wanda McCord and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don will be forever remembered for his joyful nature, kind and generous heart as well as his dedication to his family and friends. His daughters will miss the daily calls in which he would tell them how much he loved them.
