Janice R. Reisch, “Jan” age 90, of Lewis Center, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on May 30, 2021. She is now reunited with her beloved soulmate and best friend, Ken who passed away on March 10, 2021. Jan was born September 18, 1930, daughter of her late parents, Ruth and Paul Nyren, in New Haven, CT. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Carole Muise (Bob) and Paulette Potter (Al) and many nieces and nephews. She lived with joyful energy, graduated from Lewis High School in 1948, and worked with her dad throughout out that time in the family florist business and then for an insurance company after high school. She relocated to Columbus, OH in 1952 after marrying her teenage sweetheart, who was bound for the Buckeye State to complete his graduate work at The Ohio State University. While raising four children, she was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church and was a leader and event planner with many organizations; Beta Sigma Phi, Worthington Women’s Club, and various organizations affiliated with The Ohio State University. She was recently honored for 35 years of service to the Worthington Women’s Club. She was committed to her children through school activities and community endeavors and was generous with her time in many service projects. Jan was a woman of style and she had an eye for design and beauty. She took pride in her home and how she looked, and she always dressed with style and class. She loved to entertain, connect with friends, and travel. Throughout her life she was very active in staying healthy by participating in a bowling league and working out and dancing Zumba (well into her 80’s). Jan lived life passionately with her best friend and husband and they were often not apart. She shared that she was proudest of her children and their families. Jan and Ken were true Buckeye fans and were sport enthusiasts to the end. Many of their travel adventures involved attending away games well into their 70’s. Jan is survived by her four children and their spouses who cherish the time they had with her and will miss her dearly; Karen (Terry), Mark (Tricia), Laura (Tom), and Eric (Pam), and 12 grandchildren; Michael Alan, Michael Paul (Amy), Kara, Sean, Kailyn, Jordan, Lea, Crosby, Megan, Maren, Sam, and Matt. The family invites you to attend a Celebration of both Jan and Ken’s Lives on July 17th, 2021. The family will receive friends and family between 2:00-4:00 p.m. and invite all who can stay for a time of remembrance and stories at 4:00 p.m. The celebration will be held at the Chadwick Arboretum at 2120 Fyffe Road, Columbus, Ohio or by putting “Agriculture Administrative Building” in Goggle Maps. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Jan and Ken’s memory to the Chadwick Arboretum @OSU or an organization of your choosing.
