Robert C. Ringer, age 89, of Columbus, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born November 10, 1916 to Perry W. and Clara B. Ringer in Marion, Ohio. Retired from The Ohio State University Department of Human Resources February 28, 1981. Preceded in death by wife Mary Jane Walcutt Ringer to whom he was married on February 18, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. Survived by his loving family; children, Michael C. and Mark W. Ringer and his wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Kristin L. and Kelli M. Ringer, and Paige Perfect. Graduate of Marion Harding H.S. and The Ohio State University. Artillery Officer World War II, 106th Infantry Division in Northern France, the Ardennes, and Rhineland Campaigns. Received the Belgian Fourreguerre for the Defense of St. Vith Belgium. Retired in the grade of Colonel. He received the Army Meritourous Service Medal in 1972 and The Ohio State University Distinquished Service Medal in 1982. Member of University Baptist Church. Past Post Commander of American Legion Post 310 Ohio State University. Member of the Last Mans Club of WWII and The OSU Bowling League for many years. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Carl Brown and Rev. Kim Keethler Ball officiating. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Contributions may be made to University Baptist Church, 50 W. Lane Ave., Columbus, OH 43201 in his memory.
