Dr. Henry F. Scatterday, 90, died February 28 at Doctors Hospital North, a hospital that he helped establish in 1940 & where he was a staff member until his retirement. He was born in Worthington and attended school there. He graduated from Des Moines Still College (University of Osteoathic Medicine & Healt Science) in 1931 & began a practice in Westerville. for the next 41 years he served as a family doctor, treating patients in his office and their homes. He attended The Ohio State University to earn his license to practice medicine in 1944 at Des Moines Still, he was president of his senior class, the fraternity Phi Sigma Gamma & the honorary society of Sigma Sigma Phi. In Westerville, he was member of the Masons, Lions Club, and Church of the Messiah. Professional affiliations include the Ohio and American Osteopathic Assoc. Preceded in death by wife Irene Ware Scatterday; brothers Drs. James & Leonidas Scatterday; & son-in-law Joseph Papin. Survived by daughter, Jane Papin of Matawan, N.J.; son Dr. James (Sandy) Scatterday of Geneseo, N.Y.; sisters Susan Scatterday Bexley, Oh., Peggy McGurer of Mineola, N.Y.; grandchildren Dr. Jennifer Maxwell of Kent, Oh., Janine Papin of Almonte Springs, Fla., Julianne Barber of Aberdeen, N.Y., Jessica Papin New York, N.Y., Johathon Papin of Bearsville, N.Y. Grandchilren-in-laws Jean Papin, David Maxwell, & Charles Barber; great-grandchildren Joseph, Cathryn, James, & Christina Rinaldi, Erin & Daniel Maxwell. Funeral service 2 p.m. on March 4, 1998 at the Moreland Funeral Home Westerville, Oh. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Rev. Donald Pgeifer officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
