SIX Joseph E. Six, Jr., a peacemaker, mediator, author and friend to many, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. He had celebrated his 80th birthday on November 27. Joe was a wise, insightful and kind teacher to his own children, and to generations of Columbus Public School children. He developed and taught mediation skills for children, and taught educators through his example and his writing. He was a seeker of justice who traveled that road with diplomacy and humor. Joe was preceded in death by his two children Douglas and Gregory (Grey). He is mourned by his wife of twenty years, Beth Marlor, who cared for him and made his life happy during his long illness; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jackie Six; step-daughters, Terri and Emily Marlor; niece, Christine Six; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken and Sharon Williams; and by many friends and colleagues. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8 at North Congregational United Church of Christ, 2040 W. Henderson Rd., Columbus, OH 43220, 614-451-1835.
