Clarence E. Snyder, 70, 99 E. Ruby Avenue, died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday of carcinoma at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He has been ill several months and was in the hospital two weeks. Mr. Snyder owned the Snyder Lumber Service. He was well know in the area and in the state a rose grower and had taken both state and national trophies. He was a veteran of WWI. He was born in Elgin, IL., Feb. 5, 1896, the son of Jasper and Rena Peterson Snyder, and was married July 8, 1920 to M. Faye Wright, who survives. He was a member of the Wilmington Friends Church. Also surviving are three sons, Charles G. of Waverly, Thomas F. of Palos Verdes, California and Robert C. of Worthington; three brothers, Irving W. of Danville, Calif., Walter W. of Story, WY and Edward S. Snyder of Ft. Dodge, IO and seven grandchildren. Private services will be conducted by the Rev. Lorton Heusel at Marsh funeral home. Cremation will follow. No calling hours are arranged. It is requested that contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.
