E. Carl Spangler, age 81, formerly of 362 E. Piedmont Rd., recently from Ontario. Calif. Sunday Grant Hospital. Retired Chemistry teacher and Vice Principal in charge of attendance at North High School. Survived by wife Edna F. Spangler; son, Donne Spangler of Bellevue, Washington; sister, Mrs. Pauline Hoskins; and 2 brothers, Leb Spangler and Herbert G. Spangler all of Columbus; 4 grandchildren. Member of the Christen Science Mother Church of Boston. Past Master New England Lodge No. 4 F and AM. Member of Scioto Sister Consistory AASR. Past high priest Horace Wright Chapter RAM, graduate of OSU and member of the 1909-1910 basketball team. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Wednesday the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, O. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic service 8 p.m. Tuesday. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
