STRAUSS Arthur Eric Strauss, age 84, of Columbus died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Wesley Glen. Preceded in death by parents Godfrey Eric and Ivy M. Barron Strauss, mother-in-law and father-in-law Benjamin Alonzo and Daisy M. Gage Stevens, niece Linda A. Deckard Cortellesi. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cynthia Vail Stevens Strauss; children, Christopher Eric (Kathleen) Strauss, Marguerite Anna (Paul Harmon) Rice and Kenneth Stevens (Dora) Strauss; 14 grandchildren; sister, Marguerite Evelyn Deckard; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, Class of 1948A and served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years. Arthur was employed for 25 years at Professional Practice Management before retiring in 1987. Arthur was an environmentalist who had worked for social justice and peace since 1963. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 30 West Woodruff Avenue, Columbus, Ohio where a Memorial Service will be held in mid-March, followed by an interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
