Jerry Tanner, 83, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on November 23, 2021 following a long battle with dementia. Jerry was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on October 11, 1938. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio. As a young man Jerry enjoyed his time singing in a barbershop quartet and traveling the state while performing and competing. He attended Ohio State University where he was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad for 4 years. He loved the Buckeyes and was a lifelong fan. Jerry graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture and made a career working as a Landscape Architect for 40 years. He practiced and lived in Ohio and Florida. Jerry spent several years on the Florida Board for Landscape Architecture. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, and is survived by step-children, Sarah Campbell, Stuart Campbell and Jack (Jane) Campbell as well as numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his first wife Donna, children Gwen (Jerry) and Scott, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm with a service to follow at 1:30pm at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, Ohio.
