Preceded in death by wife Dorothy. Survived by children, Sally (Robert) Yocum, Sue (Norman) Edwards and Richard Taylor; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Mae Orthoefer, 45 year member Worthington United Methodist Church and Mens Fellowship. Former member and chaiman of the Administrative Board, 18 year member New England Lodge #4 f&AM. Active member Worthington Historical Society and former membership chr. Member Sons of the American Revolution since 1981. Director of Ohio State Bank, 1954-1985. North High School graduate, Class of '31. Ohio State University B.A. Agriculture, 1936. Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Owner and president of the Garden Stor, Ohio Lawn & Garden Equipment Inc. in 1959. Under his guidance P-G line, Inc. became the nation's leading wholesale distributor of attachments and tire chains for riding mowers, having served over 5000 domestic and foreign dealerships. Chairman of the First Columbus Garden Show in early 50's and active in the farm science review. Member Ohio Agricultural Council. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 1998 at the Worthington United Methodist Church. Rev. Barbara Sholis officiating. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rutherford-Corbin Chapel 515 High St., Worthington. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Worthington United Methodist Church. Masonic service 8 p.m. Wednesday.
