WALKE Brad Eugene Walke, age 42, of Oxford, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, August 17, 2007, near his beloved vacation destination of Carolina Beach, N.C. Brad was born in Columbus, Ohio, on October 14, 1964, to Jerry L. Walke and Verna S. Walke. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by mother, Verna; sister, Katharine Gillespie; two nephews, John Bradley (Jack) and Neal Thomas Gillespie; a host of relatives and friends; and adored dog, Pod. Brad graduated from Wheelersburg High School, where he was an accomplished athlete in basketball and baseball. He attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, University of Evansville, Columbus College of Art & Design and Ohio State University. Brad was presently pursuing a fine arts degree and horticulture degree at Miami University Hamilton. Prior to moving to Oxford, Brad resided in Ashley, Ohio, and enjoyed managing the rose department at Oakland Nursery. Brad loved learning, gardening, painting, photography, shooting hoops and hanging out with his nephews and cherished pets. Brad will be remembered for his genuine kindness and generosity. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington on Friday, August 31, at 11 a.m. Rev. Cindy Berkshire of White Lily Chapel in Ashley will officiate. A reception will follow at 1 p.m., at the Worthington Community Center, 345 E. Wilson-Bridge Rd. (rooms 1 and 2), Worthington.
