Ruth E. Walker, 84, died June 18, 2005. Wife of Joe Walker for over 63 years; mothers of Steven (Jenny), Nancy (Larry) Gerbetz and Wanda Walker (Craig LaFollette); loving grandmother of Scott, Jessica, Christopher, Andrew and Mandy; especially close to her many nieces and nephews. Her parents and younger brothers preceded her in death. Ruther was a charter member of Epworth League at Bowling Green University, from which she graduated in 1941. During World War II, she was a draftswoman. She will be remembered for her love for children; teaching Sunday School classes, a teacher at Gahanna Public Schools, and a Girl Scout Leader. Ruth was a docent for Worthington Historical Society, volunteer NNEMAP food pantry, member of Worthington Women's Club, Worthington United Methodist Church, and Worthington Methodist Women's Society, co-member of Sanibel Island (FL) Community Church for many yeas. Ruth will also be remembered for her love of golf, shell collecting and sky gazing. The Walker family wants to especially thank Dr. David Prescott, Home-Reach Hospice and the nurses and aides at Wesley Glen. Memorial Service at 10 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Worthington United Methodist Church. Where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
