WARD Vernon G. Ward, of Worthington, Oh., born 5 October 1919 in Alden, N.Y., died on 14 April 2000. He graduated from Syracuse University where he studied aeronautical engineering and met his wife, Jane. He worked for NACA, the forerunner of NASA, at Langley Field, Va., then for the aerospace industry before joining The Ohio State University Aeronautical and Astronautical Research Lab. Later, he worked in development and contract administration at the OSU Research Foundation until retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, granddaughter Kelli and brother Duane. Together with Jane he provided a wonderful family environment for their daughter, Sue (Hoffmannbeck) and son, Dave (Nancy) who survive him in death, together with his grandchildren, Debi (Jay) Gaupp, Ronnie and Casey Morgan, Corey, Andrew and Aric Hoffmannbeck, Molly and Abby Ward; great-grandson, Ashton (Gaupp); special friend, Mary Lytle; many relatives and friends. Memorial service 1 p.m. Friday 19 May 2000 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St. Dr. Philip M. Hazelton officiating. Interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
