WHERRY Paul Arthur Wherry, born in his childhood home in Vandergrift Pennsylvania on January 21, 1927 closed the final chapter of his life on August 3, 2007. An eternal optimist with a love of life unrivaled by most, Paul lived to the fullest until his final days. Always looking forward, and never back, Paul was a generous, warmhearted and fun loving soul. With an infectious enthusiasm for learning, for travel, and in particular, for the history of Pharmacy, he set an example to all of those he touched that life is meant to be lived. A steadfast love and friend to his late wife, Nancy, a loving and honest father to his children, Carole, Mark and Tom, Paul will be deeply missed. Survived by countless friends, acquaintances and fellow Pharmacy lovers, he is also survived by his cherished companion, Alice Faryna; sisters, Martha McDowell and Marcella Wherry; brother-in-Law, Don McDowell; son-in-law, Michael Tomko; daughter-in-law, Kecia Wherry; and his seven grandchildren, Kate Tomko, Alex Tomko, Anna Wherry, Antonela Tomko, Samantha Wherry, Antonio Wherry and Lily Wherry, who made him laugh the most. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street (1/2 south of 270). Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
