White Barbara J. White, 78, of Worthington, OH, passed away on March 5, 2016 at the Kobacker House. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 13, 1937. She was a graduate of Lucy L. Flower High School in Chicago, IL. She retired from Ohio Bell and Chase Bank. She was an active member of New Salem Baptist Church and was the leader of the CARE Ministry for many years. She also was a volunteer usher for CAPA. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph White, parents James and Mary Bennett, sister Frances Wilder, sister-in-law Harriet DeCree, nephews Butch Davis and Brian DeCree. She is survived by son, Michael P. White; sister, Joyce Jackson; sister, Marion Harris; nephews, Kamal (Kirsten) Jackson, VanNess DeCree and Michael Johnson; nieces, Connie(Michael) Wilder and Erica Cleaves; grandchildren, Mikah and Tyler White; longtime friend, Tivia Wesley-White; and a host of other family member's and friends. Homegoing service will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 with visiting hour at 11 a.m. and funeral service at 12 noon at New Salem Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, OH and interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery, 5561 Milton Avenue, Worthington, OH.
