Robert L. Yahn, 63, of Columbus, Wednesday, January 14, 1998 at home. Retired from Columbus Auto Parts. Preceded in death by parents Elmer B. and Mary J. Yahn, grandparents U. Grant and Era B. Leonard, George and Elizabeth Yahn. Survived by friends, neighbors and relatives. Member of Spring Road Church of Christ and former member of Indian Springs Church of Christ. Member of Capital City Chapter #3 D.A.V., COSI, Franklin Col Historical Society, Buckeye State Sheriff Association, Life member of NRA and PRO, Linden Aerie #2252 Fraternal Order of Eagles, U.A.W. Local #30, Society of 1st Infantry Division Big Red One, Registered Voter and Non-Partisan Ploitics. Graduated from Boy's Trade School in 1954 and received his G.E.D. in later years. U.S. Army Veteran, took Basic Training at Ft. Ord, Calif. with Fox Company, 63rd Regiment, 6th Infantry Division; served with Baker DCompany, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division and Mike Company, 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division in Germany during 1955 and 1956. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, January 19, 1998 at Rutherford Funeral Home 2382 N. High St., Columbus, where friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Wayne Kindall and David Meyers officating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military honors provided graveside by Leasure-Blackston Post #239, American Legion, Worthington.
