Childs Marcia Childs went to her better life with Jesus on September 26, 2016 after some time of illness. She was born November 3, 1925 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to John Justus and Anna (Wilson) Daub. After graduating from Vassar College with a math major, she attended Carnegie (Tech) Mellon University studying architecture. On November 27, 1948, she married Richard Childs, and they celebrated their 50th Golden wedding anniversary in 1998. Marcia worked for various architects and engineers. She retired from Community Mutual (Anthem) and then worked 14 more years at Universal Tax. For many years, she was a faithful member of Central College Presbyterian Church in Westerville, where she was active in the Mary Circle and the Tuesday Bible Study. Marcia was involved in the Worthington Women's Club and Buckeye Blues. She also volunteered at the Worthington Cancer Thrift Shop, Crew 14. Dick and Marcia were very involved in the central Ohio Cystic Fibrosis Chapter, helping to support parents of newly diagnosed children. The Childs especially enjoyed travelling and took a number of trips to places like England, Spain, France, Egypt, Alaska and many parts of the U.S. They often participated in Elderhostel trips. Marcia was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Survivors include her devoted husband, Dick; son, Austin (Deb) Childs of St. Charles MO; grandchildren, Amy (Alan) Durst of Columbus, Joe (Nikki) Williman of Middletown, Lindsey (Brad) Dunajcik of St. Louis, MO, Erica Childs of Los Angeles, CA and Jesse (Dana Reuthe) Williman of Trenton, OH; great- grandchildren, Austin, Raelynn, and Titan; niece, Marcia Smith (Jim)Thessin; nephews, Mike (Ginger) Smith and Craig Smith; brother-in-law, Dr. Wylie J. Childs. Preceding her in death were her daughter Anne (Jon) Williman of Middletown, OH, grandson Brett E. Childs, her parents, brothers Lt. (jg) John Justus Daub Jr. USN and Lt. A. Craig Daub USAAC, sister Elizabeth Daub Smith and husband Ike, sister-in-law Anne Childs Hummel and husband Charles, and brother-in-law Dr. Brevard Childs. Memorial services will be held at Central College Presbyterian Church with a reception at 12 noon and services immediately following at 1 p.m. on October 15.
