Approximately two hundred and fifty seventh and eighth grade Perry Middle School art students created this Bicentennial tile mural as a Worthington Bicentennial project. The focus was historically significant people, events and symbols in Worthington and Ohio. Each student researched a chosen topic and wrote a summary of their findings which were compiled into a book. The book was made available as a reference tool in the Perry Middle School library. Every student depicted their chosen topic on a 3D glazed tile incorporated into the mural. The mural was unveiled on May 6, 2003 and became the first installation in a permanent art collection at the school. Perry Middle School Art Teacher, Lori Whitlatch who coordinated the project, is shown in this photograph with the mural.

It covers the topics teachers, middle schools, murals, art, tile craft and centennial celebrations.

It covers the city Worthington.
