Belly dancing was the topic of a "Coffee Program" held at the Worthington Public Library in October 1977. Jane Saliaris presented the program which included background on the history of the art, modern practice as a form of exercise and recreation, and a short demonstration. Weekly coffee hour programs were sponsored by the Friends of the Library, who also provided free babysitting and coffee to adult patrons during the programs. The coffee hour series also coincided with preschool story hours.
