Eugene Moses Maynard (b. 1854) was the son of Devoss Maynard (b. 1833) and grandson of Moses Maynard Jr. (b. 1792, d. 1862), an early settler of Worthington who migrated here in the first decade of the 1800s from Massachusetts with his father Moses Maynard Sr. Devoss Maynard and his children migrated west to Kansas. Eugene Maynard married Olive Mae Marshal in 1874. He returned to Ohio for a time and returned to Kansas to raise his family.
