A funeral procession en route to Walnut Grove Cemetery passed under crossed ladders at the intersection of Lincoln and High streets to commemorate the service of former Sharon Township Fire Department Fire Chief Louis "Bud" Sanford. He served as in the department for 38 years, retiring in 1980. Louis Sanford was a founding member of the Franklin County Firefighters Association and Ohio First Aid and Rescue Association.
