Worthington Libraries was selected as the 2007 National Library of the Year. The entire staff of Worthington Libraries is pictured in front of Old Worthington Library located at 820 High Street in Worthington. The national award is given annually by Library Journal and Thomson Gale Publishing honoring the library that most profoundly demonstrates outstanding community service. As the recipient of the 2007 Library of the Year Award, Worthington Libraries received a check for $10,000 at a special reception hosted by Thomson Gale and Library Journal at the American Library Association's annual conference in Washington, DC. Worthington Libraries was previously a finalist for the Library of the Year Award in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2006.
