Alice Crawford (b. 1873, d. 1928), pictured here, was born in Uniontown, PA. At the age of 16, in Central Ohio, she married Edward Rowlands, with whom she had two children, Allen and Ruth Rowland before they divorced. In 1898, she married Nathan Lathen Pinney, Sr. (b. 1847, d. 1936), a widower 26 years her senior, with seven children. Nathan and Alice were parents to Abner Eli Pinney, who was born in 1903. The Pinneys purchased the home at 39 W. Granville Road in 1922. Alice Pinney is buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
