Worthington Libraries staff member Laurel Tacoma (standing at left) is pictured here at the opening day celebration for the Worthington Park Library. She is checking out items to a patron. The library opened on April 16, 2008, and the opening was celebrated with a breakfast featuring library and community speakers.

In addition to the Old Worthington and the Northwest Libraries, the Worthington Park Library is the third location operated by the Worthington Libraries, and it primarily serves patrons in the northeast part of the service district. It was installed into an existing space at the Worthington Park Shopping Centre.

On July 17, 2007, the library board approved a resolution to appropriate funds to open a storefront library. On December 17, 2007 the library signed the lease for the space in the shopping center and construction commenced on January 22, 2008. In 2013, the library was expanded to include a larger children’s area, an audio-visual collection and an enclosed Homework Help Center.
