This photograph of "Birdsong" or the Worthington Female Seminary's "President's House" was taken on April 17, 1963 as it was being moved across High Street to 38 Short Street.

It appeared in the "Worthington News" in an article on July 20th, 1978. The home was moved by Charles and Janet Lee and was originally known as the President's House and stood immediately south of the Methodist Female Seminary at 582 High Street. Portions of the house were built in the 1820's. It was remodeled in the 1870's in the popular Carpenter Gothic style. When the Female Seminary building was condemned and torn down in 1962, the house was offered to anyone who would move it. After the move, it took the Lees approximately a year to build a foundation and completely restore the house before it could be occupied. Among additions were two fireplace mantels from the Griswold Inn, razed from its site at 800 High Street in 1964. Also installed was a curving banister from the old Seminary hallway.
