In 1964 Worthington Foods acquired rights to produce and market Madison Foods located in Madison, TN. Madison Foods had been manufacturing and marketing a variety of vegetable protein foods. The acquisition included recipes and formulas as well as trademarks, but did not include land or buildings. Through construction or lease several branch warehouses were added to the distribution network established by the company during the period 1965 to 1969. By this time sales were divided roughly equal in volume among three geographical areas; East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest.
