The 1946 Cardinals varsity boys basketball team was the most successful in the history of Worthington High School at the time. Their record for the regular season was 15 wins and 3 losses. They were county Co-Champions with Grove City. The team won the Franklin County Tourney, the District Championship and the Regional Tourney. Cardinals entered the State Class "B" Finals losing the Championship game to Farmer at a close score of 36-32.
