This dress was worn by Mary R. Snow (b. 1840, d. 1899) when she was an attendant or bridesmaid for Lauretta Barnes Fay's wedding to Charles Mackey in May of 1867. Lauretta Fay was the daughter of Cyrus Fay, niece of Philander and Mary Fay Chase, and granddaughter of Cynthia Goodale Barnes Kilbourn. Mary Snow was the daughter of George and Eliza Snow of Worthington. She is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

This white cotton net dress with silk ribbon embellishments and pagoda sleeves would have been worn over hoops.
