Memorial in Flint Park
Basic details
Background
Robert W. Johnson, an African American leader in the community, was instrumental in the development of Flintridge Terrace. Located in Sharon Township, it was a place where African Americans could purchase land and build a home during the 1950's, a time when much housing was restricted to whites only. This plaque was laid in his memory in 1993 at Flint Park, along with three cherry trees that were planted.
