Memorial in Flint Park
Description
Robert W. Johnson, an African American leader in the community, was instrumental in the development of Flintridge Terrace. Located in Sharon Township, it was a place where African Americans could purchase land and build a home during the 1950's, a time when much housing was restricted to whites only. Three wild cherry trees were planted and a plaque laid in his memory in 1993 in Flint Park.
