Jean Marie Walters, age 100 of Columbus, died Thursday February 16, 2023 at Kobacker House. Jean was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1922 to the late Benjamin and Mabel (Pontius) Backus. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Walters and her son Gerald Walters Jr. Jean is survived by her son Dennis (JJ) Walters of Richmond, Virginia and her daughter Diane (Robert) Mogavero of Columbus, grandchildren Jerry Walters, Todd Walters, Kevin Walters, Jenny Adlakha, Meghan Walters and Mia Mogavero; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Jean was a life-long member of the Worthington United Methodist Church and many Women's groups and Bridge Clubs. Friends may call on Monday February 20, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St in Worthington, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
