The entire student body of Mrs. Gertrude Day Eldridge's private school are pictured here standing in front of the Worthington Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Eldridge (b. 1856, d. 1931) conducted a private school for 30 years. It was founded at Clintonville in 1899 and moved to Worthington in 1901 where it continued as a day and boarding school. In 1904 she opened a college preparatory school in conjunction with the original school. The school's focus changed to education of mentally and physically disabled children in 1908.
