This is a color photograph of Marian Stearnes, who is at the Old Worthington Library for the wedding of librarian Rachel Alexander, May 8, 1982. She is facing the camera and looking up and to the right, possibly speaking with someone off-camera.

At the time, the Old Worthington Library was the only location of Worthington Libraries. Alexander's wedding to Bob Foulk took place that evening after the library closed, with food provided by staff and Worthington mayor Lawrence Braun serving as officiant.

Stearnes was a homebound patron of the library. She had served as a nurse in World War I, and had attended school at Western Reserve University, the precursor to Case Western Reserve University.

Alexander worked for Worthington Libraries from 1976 to 1985, and again from 1997 to 2008; during that time she served many roles, including community services librarian, children’s librarian, youth services manager and youth services materials selector.
