Former Worthington Estates School student David Spellacy became a captain in the Marine Corps. He attended the school 1970-1974. Captain Spellacy was killed in action in Saudi Arabia during "Desert Storm" on February 25, 1991. This memorial tree was planted on the grounds of Worthington Estates School in his honor.
