A view of the west side of High street in the 1970's shows local businesses including Adams The Druggist and the Village Green Salon. The downtown business district provides primary services, such as a drug store and hardware store. Shopping areas in small downtowns could still support independent local businesspersons. The large shopping malls and chain stores had not yet completed their dampening effect on local companies.
