Mayor Harvey Minton officially opened the Worthington Bicentennial Celebration on the morning of October 19, 2002 during the opening ceremonies. Founders Day Weekend honored the founding of Worthington, with festivities taking place on the Village Green. Historic reenactments of pioneer life, arts, crafts, and music were enjoyed by hundreds who turned out for the celebration.
