This picture postcard, dated July 20, 1950, shows Max McConagha (b. 1914, d. 1961) at the beginning of his tenure as a disc jockey at the WRFD radio station. The channel commenced airing in 1947, and Mr. McConagha, who called himself, "Mr. 5 by 5," had a weekday morning show. The radio station was located in the lower level of the Worthington Inn. McConagha also ran a photography store and the McConagha Funeral Home at 571 High Street.
