This painting by Polly VanArsdell shows 571 High Street around 1946. The artist, who trained at The Ohio State University School of Art, was commissioned by Max and Martha McConagha to paint several of Worthington's old landmarks, according to an April 1946 Worthington News article. Part of the structure was built in 1865 by Henry Tuller and then Dr. Thomas Asbury added a substantial addition to the front around 1875. The home was purchased by Dr. A.B. McConagha and his son Max in 1938 to serve as the McConagha Funeral Home on the first floor and living quarters on the second. The Ella Nora Rest Home later occupied the home.
