Harvey Steiger Minton age 83 years, of Worthington, Ohio passed away August 16 , 2017 at Mayfair Village Nursing Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. 2013 Retired as Mayor of Worthington, after serving 14 years, and from his law firm; Harvey Minton and Associates. Preceded in death by parents, Elsie Steiger Minton, Harvey Allen Minton and Mary Ellen Minton; son, Harvey Randal Minton; brother, Dr. John Peter Minton and brother-in-law, Michael Fredrick Paul. Survived by wife, Jane Grimm Minton; daughter, Jennifer Thelma Minton; sister, Helen Ann Minton Paul; sister-in-law, Janice Gurney Minton; nieces, Catheryn Minton Green (Jeffrey), Elizabeth Minton Myers (Brian), Cynthia Minton Gwilliams (Kevin) and Christina Minton Hall (Timothy); nephews, Roger Minton Paul and Jeffrey Frederick Paul and other nieces and nephews.

Graduate of University High School in 1952, Ohio State University 1956 and Ohio State University Law School in 1962. Member and Elder in Worthington Presbyterian Church. Member of the Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club, New England Lodge #4 of Free and Accepted Masons. Chapter Advisor of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, previous head of Mayor’s Court and instrumental in initiating the Drug Diversion Program in Mayor’s Court. Was in charge of Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast and was active in WIFA. Received 2001 Ohio State University Greek Community Alumni Service Award, 2004 Service Award from University Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, honoree of 2012 Leadership for a Lifetime Award from Leadership Worthington and a life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who in America. Other honors include 1956 R.O.T.C Number One graduate, member of Bucket and Dipper and Sphynx honoraria and member of American Boy choir.

Funeral service to be held 2 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at The Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St., Worthington, OH with reception 1 hour prior at 1 pm. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday, August 21, 2017 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington. Burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
