Col. James Kilbourne, 1770-1850

Col. James Kilbourne  was born Friday, October 19, 1770 in Farmington, Connecticut .

he died Wednesday, April 24, 1850.

he was a veteran  and served in the War of 1812.

his remains can be found at St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery .

From low beginning he rose to eminence in business and Science:
Exhibited great enterprizes, constancy: Formed the Scioto Company
& led the settlement in 1803: Founded Institutions of Learning:
Filled many public stations, including State & National Legistures:
with ABILITY INTEGRITY & Honor: Raised his Family to distinction
in business & character & Died Apr. 24th, 1850.

His First Companion, LUCY, Daughter of John Fitch Esq. of Windsor, Ct.
was born in Windsor, Con. August 23rd, 1769, died March 8th, 1807,
in giving birth to her 8th child, a female who died without name,
& was buried with the Mother.

Died Dec. 1837.
LUCY, born Feb. 1st, 1793. Died. Dec. l837.
HARRIT, Apr. 26th, 1795.

BYRON. Sept. 8th, l80l, a distinguished Civil Engineer.
founder of Milwaukie City,
Member of Wisconsin Legislature.
ORREL 2nd Oct. 15th, 1803. Died Nov. 10, 1863.

His second Companion, CYNTHIA. Daughter of Maj. Nathan
Goodale, was Born in Brookfield, Mass. July 31st, 1775.
Their children were,
ELIZA Born Feb. 13th, 1809. Died August 11th, 1810.

LINCOLN. Born Oct. 19th, 1810 - a Merchant
CHARLOTTE, Nov. 9th, 1812. Died Nov. 9th, 1813.
JAMES, M.D. April 30th, 1815. Died May 30th, 1845.
